Interesting facts:

Back of the Yards has maintained a stable population while the City, County and destination trade area have experienced a population decline.

Since 2000, household earnings more than $50,000 a year have increased by 21 percent.

Families are at the center of Back of the Yards, with a higher percentage of families, children ages 0 to 17 and larger families than either the city or the Destination Trade Area.

The Back of the Yards trade area residents under 17 years of age made up 35 percent of the population in 2009.

Hispanic Households in the Back of the Yards destination trade area have a strong presence and are key market for current food, furniture, and other household goods and services.
