Back to School Event at Shedd Park
With a new school year around the corner, the Parks Advisory Council will be having their sixth annual Back to School Event at Shedd Park on Saturday Aug. 11 to prepare students for their first day of class.
Book bags and school supplies will be given to students throughout the day while enjoying a day of music, games, face painting and other fun activities. Cook County Commissioner Jesus “Chuy” Garcia and 22nd Ward Alderman Ricardo Muñoz will be present speaking and encouraging kids to continue to further their education and have a better quality of life.
Developed in 2007, the Back to School Event’s goal is to encourage neighborhood students to stay focused and improve their communities.
The Back to School Event will take place at Shedd Park, 3660 W. 23rd St on Saturday Aug. 11 from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.
