Villapalooza 2012 Fundraiser

Last year, a group of artists, musicians and music enthusiasts came together to form the first ever Villapalooza – Little Village Music Festival, an event that provided a platform for local artists while highlighting the best of the Little Village neighborhood.

With plans of making this year’s festival bigger and better, SurCul collective, the group behind the festival, organized a kick-off fundraiser on July 12 at Jacaranda. Afroqbano, Mos, Itzi Nallah and Sonoroma brought out the good vibes with their individual DJ sets while Dubication enthralled guests with their reggae beats.

The fundraiser was also an opportunity for musicians to drop off demos and become part of Villapalooza, while an art raffle provided guests with the chance to snag an array of pieces produced by local artists.
