The Beginning of Something Big

The ALFA Cup 2012 tournament kicked off its new season on Sunday, May 6 at the Ralph “Babe” Serpico Field in Melrose Park, Ill. The event brought out over 250 people, among children and adults.

Despite there being winning and losing teams in the first six matches, there was a great sense of harmony among all participants, a goal of the All Family Active (ALFA) organization.

Participants also had the opportunity to invite friends and families to get together and be part of the games, something that often isn’t possible due to lack of time. This allowed family members to become active participants rather than just spectators.

An organization committed to bringing physical activity and promoting health and sports among families, ALFA understands the need for physical activity at home, since many times it is not possible to practice the things that we are passionate about or love, in this case sports, due to time restraints or not having the resources to do it. The organization has taken on the task to bring these good quality programs to the community and at an affordable cost.

Thanks to the help of others, ALFA is giving the opportunity to those families who wish to participate in these kinds of programs to register or to call to attend any future events.

El Principio de Algo Grande

La Copa ALFA 2012 arrancó su nueva temporada el domingo 6 de mayo en el Serpico Field del estadio Ralph “Babe” en el Melrose Park Ill. El evento reunió a más de 250 personas, entre niños y adultos.

Aunque hubieron equipos ganadores y perdedores en los primeros seis partidos, hubo una gran armonía entre todos los participantes, una meta de la organización All Family Active (ALFA).

Los participantes también tuvieron la oportunidad de invitar a amigos y familiares para reunirse y ser parte de los partidos, algo que a menudo no es posible debido a la falta de tiempo. Esto permitió a las familias convertirse en participantes activos en lugar de ser sólo espectadores.

Una organización comprometida a traer al actividad física y a promover la salud y los deportes entre las familias, ALFA entiende la necesidad de la actividad física en casa, ya que muchas veces no es posible practicar las cosas que nos apasionan o encantan, en este caso los deportes, debido a las limitaciones de tiempo o por no tener los recursos para hacerlo. La organización se ha dado la tarea de traer estos buenos programas de calidad a la comunidad a un precio accesible.

Gracias a la ayuda de otras personas, ALFA está dando la oportunidad a todas esas familias que quieran participar en este tipo programas para que se registren o llamen para asistir a futuros eventos.
