CPS Students Compete in “Dancing with Class” Dance-Off

The Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events, in partnership with the Chicago Office of Tourism and Culture, and May I Have This Dance, Inc. will hold Dancing With Class, a dance competition featuring kids from seven CPS schools, including Irma C. Ruiz Elementary, Waters Elementary and Wentworth Elementary on Thursday, Dec. 8.

Dancing With Class is program that uses social dance as a medium to build teamwork and communication skills, as well as personal character and self-esteem. Children in grades four to six were eligible to participate. The Dance-Off  will  feature several rounds of competition including Merengue, Swing, Waltz, Tango and Salsa.
The event will take place Thursday, Dec. 8 at the Chicago Cultural Center, Sidney R. Yates Gallery (4th Floor), 78 E. Washington St. at 6 p.m. Admission is free. For more information visit www.chicagoculturalcenter.org.
