Just Like Us: Cornell Square Park Youth Radio Documentary

This summer, TRACE youth participants at Cornell Square Park were busy engaging in critical thinking and brainstorming creative solutions to issues that affect their lives.

The TRACE youth program used journalism and media literacy to discuss the issue of adultism – a topic very relevant to inner city youth.

On Thursday August 4, program participants organized a panel discussion on the topic and invited the community to come and voice their perspectives.

TRACE program participants also prepared a radio documentary titled, “Just Like Us,” about adultism, where they featured various opinions from different members of the Back of the Yards-New City community.

Igual que Nosotros: Un Documental de Radio Juvenil del Parque Cornell Square

Este verano, jóvenes participantes del programa TRACE del parque Cornell Square estuvieron ocupados con el proceso de pensamiento crítico y el intercambio de ideas para encontrar soluciones creativas a las cuestiones que afectan sus vidas.

El programa TRACE para jóvenes utilizó el periodismo y la educación mediática para discutir el tema del adultismo—un tema relevante a los jóvenes de las ciudades.

El jueves 4 de agosto, los participantes del programa organizaron un panel de discusión sobre el tema e invitaron a la comunidad a que fuera y expresara sus perspectivas.

Los participantes del programa TRACE también prepararon un documental de radio titulado “Al Igual que Nosotros”, acerca del adultismo, donde ellos presentaron varias opiniones de distintos miembros de la comunidad de Back of the Yards-New City.
